Youth One Africa's First Year
In May 2008, the Youth ARISE Ministry of Footsteps of Jesus Christ Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastor Absalom, began having overnights once a month on a Friday evening.
Birthed from the Youth Arise Ministry of Footsteps, it was time to expand the Vision beyond Footsteps and Youth ONE Overnights officially went CITY-WIDE after 8 months of interceding for the Church, Namibia and the lost! In February 2009, Youth ONE began its intercessory group to lay the foundation to establish the Joshua Generation, an Army of Victorious Warriors. In the Kingdom of God nothing can be achieved without prayer, and one is too small of a number to achieve great things. At Youth ONE we believe that it is not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit of God, says the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6).
The first overnight was well attended by over 60 young people from different Churches in Windhoek. A number of anointed teachers led the prayers, and praise and worship was lifted up to Elohim.
In March 2009, Youth ONE was hosted by Redeemed Christian Church, under the leadership of Pastor Rudiger. Special Guest Speaker, Pastor Jennifer Moeti, led the midnight intercession to “Break the Walls of Jericho”.
In April 2009, River of Life Community Church, which is under the leadership of Apostle Fred Joseph hosted the Youth ONE Overnight and the Power of God was manifested. On that night, young people from all over the city interceded for a Man of God who was jailed for working without a permit. His work was preaching the Gospel in Namibia. The Man of God was a foreigner from East Africa and he was told that the only way to leave Namibia was by air, and he had no money to pay for his ticket, meaning that he was most probably going to stay in jail for a long time. The Youth ONE prayer warriors did not stop at anything. They prophesied and declared freedom for the Man of God. The young people took up an offering to buy him some food. After a few days, Youth ONE was notified that the Man of God was released and he was on his way to East Africa. Glory to God!
May 2009 rolled in, and Youth ONE was once again hosted by the Youth ARISE Ministry at Matti Atisaari School. This time, young people from around the City made declarations and decrees in the spirit-realm that would change the course of their lives and that of Namibia, forever.
In June 2009, Youth ONE was hosted by Fountain of Living Waters Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Jacques Sumpi. The Night was filled with power as young people from all corners of Windhoek came to intercede for the Church and the Nation of Namibia.
In July 2009, Youth ONE was once again hosted by Redeemed Christian Church. Special Guest Speaker, Pastor Asaph Marcel taught the young people on the power of the Word of God and the anointing of the Holy Spirit filled the room with worship and praise. Young people were delivered from the powers of darkness and others were ushered into God’s divine call upon their lives.
Word of Life Ministries under the leadership of Senior Pastor Valentine hosted the 7th Youth ONE Overnight in August 2009. With the theme of “Sonship”, the young people experienced the power of the Love of our Heavenly Father. Special Guest Speaker Pastor Christian (Word of Life) and Pastor Stephan Feldman (Family Christian Church) spoke from the heart of God as young people were touched by their witness of Christ’s Love for humanity.
On this very special night, God broke racial barriers between the black and white people in our society. Pastor Absalom and Pastor Stephan prayed hand in hand, representing the black and white communities in Namibia, respectively. What happened that night was the breaking away of racial tensions that hindered the Body of Christ from being united.
